Shinto shrines and an Imperial Palace mingle with karaoke clubs and manga conventions, and you can practice Japanese with friendly locals in the trendy shops and sushi bars of the Shibuya District, where our comfortable school is located.

This carefully composed course is designed to help you move up one course level of ability every six weeks. EF’s General Course includes 26 morning & afternoon lessons weekly, blending classroom and teacher- guided lessons in iLab (total tuition time of 17 hours, 20 minutes). The focus is on communicating clearly in everyday language. Note: This course is not available for low beginners and beginners in general.
Learn a language as quickly as possible for academic or professional reasons.
Make maximum progress during your stay abroad. Highly recommended for serious students who need to learn a language as quickly as possible for academic reasons. Highly structured syllabus, comprised of 32 morning and afternoon lessons a week (total tuition time of 21 hours and 20 minutes), will have you speaking and writing with confidence in the least amount of time.
EF Intensive is a popular course because not only do you maximize the amount that your language skills improve, you also gain valuable time to practice with fellow students. This extra interaction enables you to communicate in a natural way, faster than on other courses, and in the process form lasting friendships.
Note: This course is not available for low beginners and beginners in general.
