Friends, I spent time in a wonderful school UIC English international in Oxford just a week, but there were a lot of impressions!
First of all, I will say about the school itself - I already had experience of studying in it (in London), this time I was preparing for the IELTS exam. On the first day, I did not have to take a test (as all new students do), since I was already tested in London :) So, on Monday I started right away from the fight - or rather, from classes in the IELTS class! Teachers are wonderful (I can say that about all the staff of the school - I think, many of you have heard about British hospitality and goodwill, but here somehow especially :)
I will not say that during this short period I significantly raised my level of language and preparation for the exam, but all the wishes for the lessons the teacher took into account! Plus - staying in the country one way or another raises the conversational level accurately - in my group there was not a single Russian student. In general, I can say that you are merging into the "atmosphere" of the language and then feel good in it!
I will also say about living conditions!
Honestly, this was my first time in the student residence - I lived on Stanley Road 15. A very nice place - a cozy British house for only 9 rooms! I had a very clean room with a design, as the British call it "lovely" :) was really one funny moment: I arrived on Saturday, and not on Sunday, when the settlement usually takes place, and I was not expected to be in the residence ... apparently, the school forgot to warn about my arrival. But all this quickly settled down - after 10 minutes of my insistent calls to the door they gave me a great room!
I will say, of course, about Oxford himself! A stunning beauty! I really love London, but now my favourite city in England - definitely Oxford! Architecture, local restaurants, ancient churches, nature - everything fascinates you! So I did not want to leave! I will definitely return again to this city (maybe as a university student :) I'll be honest, before I went to the city for students, I was firmly planning to make a master in Canada, but now I will think about England! This city is madly respected by students! And if you are not one of them, the entrance to many colleges or historical buildings is simply closed to you (even for a fee). Therefore, two outlets - either to make friends with students, or to become one himself :) To enter Oxford University is, of course, difficult! But even this is possible (although there are about 125 Russian students studying there for 25 thousand students). But there is now a goal - to increase this number :)
