I enjoy studying there. It was an inexpressible experience)
The school is great. The teachers and managers are always accommodating.
The school is located in the downtown in close vicinity to shops, museums, and a library.
Education is systematic and thorough.
Before going to this school, my English level was assessed as Intermediate. But at my first day at class I passed a test, and my English level was assessed as B2 – it is Upper-Intermediate.
At first, I thought that I could complete this level in a month. But now I realized that it takes 3 months to complete one language level.
I took 3 lessons in a day, each one was 1,5-hour long. I understood that it was enough for me, 4 lessons in a day could be harsh. However, students from Russia usually take 4 lessons)) they are considered as brave ones)
The book that I got in the school was amazing. It was easy to do self-learning with it. So, the group studied one Unit in a week. There are 14 Units in the book. I came to the group, when they were on the 10th Unit. A part of tutorial materials I studied by myself. It was really pleasant that the book contained numerous audio-lessons.
Students from plenty of countries go to study for six months – this is the time, which will help you to improve your English on a couple of levels. Students from Russia often go for 2 weeks. Unfortunately, it is a short term, and it is hard to learn something systematically. You can only get the exposure to the language.
I advise you to go at least for a month. Also, I realized that grammar and vocabulary are worth exploring in Russia, and you should go to England to train your listening comprehension and speaking skills in English. Although, in my opinion it would be better for the school to pay more attention to dialogues. Unfortunately, not all the teachers attend to the dialogues (correct mistakes) between students during the classes. The beat teacher is Kate. Thanks to her, thanks to her professionalism, I was able to improve my level of language skills
I think that my English level has increased. It became easier to speak (though not as Upper-Intermediate) and listen to English, moreover, I began to read non-adaptive literature.
What was the most frightening and what I was worried about is the road. It seemed to me scary to get from Moscow to Oxford. And, the closer to home in Oxford, the worse.
As a result, my road was: Flight Moscow-London (Gatwick), London (Gatwick Airport) bus - Oxford bus station, taxi station - family house.
I worried a lot. Eventually, it was not so scary. Nevertheless, it would be great if LinguaTrip helped with the transfer, but there is no transfer service to the host family( And taking a taxi from London to Oxford is more expensive than air travel.
As previously it’s been written in the reviews, leisure is organized at the school, but students are inactive in participation, and the organizers do not seek to increase attendance. Every day it is organized either going to a museum or a cafe. I really love excursions, so I specially "advertised" such trips among my friends, as a result, we went to the ice rink and one museum for 2-3 people from the whole school))) But still we went, which pleases)
At the beginning I lived in a family, which lived in the suburbs – It took me one hour to get to the school. I said that I want to change my host family at my first day at the school. They changed a family in a week, but it was ok for me. A new family lived closer, it was a retired woman. I lived in a big room, and food was normal)
I was satisfied)
