General English is the perfect course for students who wish to improve their communication. That is, talking with people over a wide range of topics and everyday situations. General English courses are suitable for students over the age of 16 who would like to improve their use of English. Students can do this whilst living, studying or working in the United Kingdom.

A typical General English class would cover all aspects of English. This, generally, includes grammar, speaking, reading, writing and listening. The maximum number of students in each class is 16 but, on average, there are about 8-10 students per class.

Most importantly, teachers care about your progress. Upon arrival, students are tested and placed into the appropriate level. Additionally, on the first day, students will discuss goals with the Director of Studies. Thereafter, students will do a test every five weeks and discuss their progress with their teacher.

Wifi access is available in the rooms and throughout the residence.A damage deposit of £250 per person is made by credit or debit card prior to arrival. Rathbone Place

Most importantly, the residence is a short 3-minute walk from Rose of York. The bedrooms are decorated in a modern style to a very high standard. There is good storage space, comfortable beds, desks, chairs, blinds and plasma screen TV. Majority of the rooms in Rathbone Place are shared twin rooms. If students are travelling alone, they can share with another person. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and practice your English outside of the classroom. Additionally, there are common areas in which you can meet other residents and make new friends.
