EF Intensive Course
  • From 16 years old
  • 12 students per class
  • Lesson 40 minutes

Learn a language as quickly as possible for academic or professional reasons.

Make maximum progress during your stay abroad. Highly recommended for students who need to learn a language as quickly as possible for academic or professional reasons.

Our highly structured syllabus, comprised of 32 morning and afternoon lessons a week (total tuition time of 21 hours and 20 minutes), will have you speaking and writing with confidence in the least amount of time. Our general language lessons build your grammar and vocabulary, while our project sessions improve your research and communication skills through practical work tailored to your interests.

Our Intensive Course offers the maximum number of Special Interest Lessons, to ensure you successfully achieve your goals while studying abroad. Taught both in class and online, you can take SPIN Lessons focused on language skills, professional development, exam or university preparation or culture and arts.

Why is EF Intensive our most popular course?

Because not only do you maximize the amount that your language skills improve, you also gain valuable time to practice with fellow students. This extra interaction enables you to communicate in a natural way, faster than on other courses, and in the process form lasting friendships.

How many weeks should students enroll for an EF Intensive Course?

The longer you study, the more you will improve, guaranteed. That’s why students seeking advanced language skills enroll for a minimum of 3 to 6 weeks. Keep in mind that Intensive students make progress 25 to 50% faster. A 6-week course allows most students to advance one full level of ability, and many intensive students choose to achieve greater fluency with courses of 3 months or more.

My host family was nice, they helped me all the time and fed me delicious. The school was unusual, I really liked its buildings and the inner territory. I enjoyed a studying process, a teachers’ perfect level of English and actually I never wanted a lesson to end. All teachers sounded like those from textbook cassettes in Russian schools. The activities were never boring, but also I always had a spare time. I didn’t regret at all!...

Actually, it was my first time in England. Honestly, I can say that it was so interesting to be in this country for the first time, especially because the UK is advantageously different from other European countries. My expectations were met, and I have such enjoyable impressions about that journey! It was my second time in EF school, and I was thinking about the school in London or Edinburgh. I couldn’t choose, so I decided to spend 2 weeks in each city. It was the right thing to do. Edinburgh pleased me a lot, but London just amazed me. It’s like the improved version of Moscow. All of the teachers speak English, like the honey is smeared on your ears! Listening to how they use the language in general gives you too much pleasure. It cannot be described in any other words. Excursions in a company of awesome students to the most famous places also gave lots of indelible impressions. Living in a hostfamily was the best part of the whole journey. I have never met such great people abroad before – they could take me with them if they went to somewhere; or if I was late for dinner, they would heat up my food; also on the weekends, they gave me a lift if I needed it. In conclusion, at school, classes are interesting in all ways possible. I give it 11 out of 10....

I lived both in the host family and residence. Personally, I liked residence more, because you live closer to the school and there are always friends from all over the world around you. But from the other hand, while you are living in the host family you learn more about locals' life and of course you communicate with them. No matter what you choose you will be in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere in the host family and in the residence. Most of all I liked my learning experience in Winchester that I'd recommend. I also wanted to say about excursions. Don't be greedy and buy a package of excursions, you will have no regrets! :)...

I'm very happy that I chose this school! Studying and leisure were great! Next time I would have stayed at the residence, although the family was not bad, it's a bit out of mine. The school itself is very beautiful; teachers and staff are friendly; there has always been something to do. It was easy to get along with guys. I was glad that the excursions from the EF went out cheaper. Emotions are only positive; I advise everyone to check it out!...

"Hello everyone!! I want to share with you my first experience of the language courses. It was really easy to choose the town, London is the dream of every teenager! My mother really worried about sending me to abroad for the first time, also with the unknown company for us. But after consultation in the office no doubt left. We know that I’ll be safe. They were talking with us very politely, answered our emails really quickly, provided us with information and helped with the visa - we got it very quickly and without any problem! As about the journey: really informative lessons let me improve my English quickly. I saw the result on the very first day. Teacher are the native speakers, the classes were extremely interesting. It was always interesting. In the schools there were a lot of events for different interests – football matches or exhibition of impressionists. The family is very hospitable, open and simple in communication. The host parents always came to the rescue in solving any issue, were interested in my affairs and recommended places to visit. It was 30 minutes by public transport from them to the place of study. As for the city itself - then there are no words! The school is located in the very center, right near the Ferris wheel. After classes, I walked around all the main sights on foot - a very convenient location! The school itself is incredibly modern, spacious - in such an atmosphere, it's even nice to study! In general, the whole trip made an incredible impression of everything, really. After that, I went with EF two more times - I did not even consider other schools! I also recommended it to my friends (everyone was delighted), now I recommend this school to you! "...
