This course includes 20 lessons of General English plus 5 afternoon elective lessons of Skills for Career or Academic Success per week.

- 20 Morning classes per week cover all language skills and are based around a coursebook, followed by a fluency-focused Speaking & Listening lesson.

- 5 Afternoon classes per week are devoted to helping students to develop creative and critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving and communication skills. The lessons use a coursebook specifically designed for BSC students aiming for success in their professional careers.

You can choose to study Skills for Academic Success or Skills for Career Success.

Skills for Academic Success prepares you to work effectively in an academic setting and is ideal if you wish to continue your studies in an English speaking environment or prepare for an exam.

Skills for Career Success will teach you to express yourself in the professional field and is ideal if you wish to work or advance your career at home or abroad.

Family life is informal, and people are friendly and talkative, so you will have many opportunities to practice your English. All families are carefully selected and regularly visited to ensure consistently high standards.

Host families are located in residential neighborhoods in and around the city of Edinburgh. All homes are within safe and reasonable walking distance from public transport.

You can choose a single room or a shared room (only available to 2 students booking together). All rooms have everything that is needed for comfortable living and studying even at home after classes. Bathroom, living room and kitchen are shared rooms.

Homestay accommodation offers 2 types of nutrition: bed & breakfast or half board(breakfast and dinner). If you require a special diet, you will have to pay extra £28 per week.

Internet access is available at most homestays. Bed linen and towels provided. Also, students will have an access to washing machine.
