The Italian language school “Centro Culturale Giacomo Puccini” is located in the center of Viareggio, within walking distance from the beach.
The school is next to a Pinewood forest where you can go jogging, rent a bicycle, or play tennis. From the school, everything is accessible on foot.
The school is located in a two-story building and contains nine classrooms. Facilities include:
- full internet service
- an outdoor terrace, gazebo, and a small garden
- wheelchair access
The intensive Italian language course is our standard course, and consists of 4 Italian lessons a day, totaling 20 lessons a week.
The lessons are held from Monday to Friday in groups of no more than 14 students, led by qualified teachers, who are passionate about their work.
The lessons begin every Monday for students that already have some knowledge of the Italian language, and every two weeks for absolute beginners.
Lessons in Leonardo da Vinci are principally based on spoken communication, but also deal with the more formal aspects of the language (lexis/vocabulary and grammar). Lots of time is dedicated to activities that encourage dialogue and discussion about various topics, from art and literature to modern city culture.
Textbooks are provided by the school and are included in the price of the course.

The Italian + Excursions course organized by Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci School of Viareggio is an excellent proposal for those who want to learn the Italian language and enjoy a pleasant hiking holiday.
You will discover naturalistic, artistic and monumental itineraries, visiting the most beautiful cities and areas of upper Tuscany, in Versilia and its surroundings.
Individual Italian language lessons are tailored to the individual student’s needs and interests: in private Italian language courses, the teacher's attention is focused only on the student and his/her learning requirements.
The private Italian language course allows the student to freely decide on the number and time of the lessons, with a wide range of availability.
For the best results, however, school do suggest a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 lessons per day.
The private course is ideal for those who need to learn Italian for work or to learn a specific vocabulary relating to a profession, such as business Italian, Italian in the banking sector, Italian for law, medicine or for the fashion world or simply to deepen one's own personal interests in subjects such as art, cinema, literature or Italian history.
The One-to-one Italian language lessons are perfect to combine with the numerous group activities organised by the school, so as to complement the study and to provide periods of socialising, relaxation and interaction in the Italian language.
Individual lessons can also include lunch with your teacher, offering you the possibility to continue learning the Italian language in an everyday life situation.
One-to-one preparation courses for Italian language exams:
Individual preparation lessons for Italian language exams are an excellent idea for those who need to obtain an Italian language diploma: whether it be CILS from the University for Foreigners of Siena or AIL from the Italian Academy of Language.
The school must confirm the availability of your chosen accommodation.
If the selected housing is not available for your dates, the school will offer another accommodation option for you to consider.

Most of the families that host students have collaborated with Scuola Leonardo da Vinci for many years and for this, they have a lot of experience in welcoming students from all parts of the world.
The families are usually found near the school or in residential areas of the city. This type of accommodation requires some flexibility and adaptability to different habits, however, it is definitely recommended for learning the language, customs and Italian manners. The families are carefully selected and are eager to make their guests feel right at home.

The students are greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere at the small family run hotel. The beach and the school are both at a short walking to the hotel. All of the city's major attractions are easily accessible via a short walk along the charming Art Deco waterfront, which is lined with shops and cafés.
