The cozy Westwood Village where Kaplan International English - Los Angeles Westwood school is located is a popular spot to see and meet celebrities, just ten minutes from Beverly Hills, and there are multiple bus stops a few minutes’ walk away.
Kaplan International English - Los Angeles Westwood is a large school with bright classrooms with interactive whiteboards, library, student lounge, multimedia lab, garden/outdoor area, and free Wi-Fi.
In addition to learning English, students attend a sports game or concert downtown, spend a day at Disneyland or Universal Studios, and visit one of the many nearby museums, including the Getty.
General English courses are designed to improve your English language skills and give you more professional and academic options in the future. As well as taking lessons, you will have plenty of time to sight-see and explore your destination.
The course is semi-intensive, and is available at all levels from Elementary to Advanced, with classes made up of different levels. The focus is on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The course of preparation for the GMAT exam, which must be passed to applicants for admission to MBA courses in the USA, includes detailed lessons in Kaplan International English, practical texts and work with exclusive test materials from Kaplan. In additional classes, you improve English using printed and online exercises.

English Academic Year courses are nine-month English courses that aim to take you from your current level of English up to a very high level of fluency. As well as this general English course, you can choose an Intensive Academic Semester Year course, in which you will study specific sections of vocabulary and skills, such as Business English and exam preparation.
Immerse yourself in the English language, and spend a year studying and getting to know a new location and culture. The course is an effective way to increase your fluency, and you will be helped by exclusive and specially designed study materials.
9 months (32 weeks of tuition and 2-3 weeks break)
- 20 lessons (15 hours) of General English: focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking;
- 7 sessions (5.25 hours) of K+ tools, K+eXtra and K+ clubs: Self-study time with access to exclusive materials and resources along with personalized sessions for you study the areas you most need help with, including exam techniques and study group work.
All courses are Monday-Friday, with morning and afternoon classes and each lesson lasts 45 minutes.

Homestay families reflect the diversity of life in the United States. They include young, senior and single parent families and couples with and without children. American hosts live in houses, apartment complexes or townhomes and have varying ethnic backgrounds, diverse interests, and different lifestyles.
Living in a homestay will allow you to practice your English in a real-life setting. It is important to remember that you are both part of the family and a guest at the same time. You may have to help with household chores, keep your bedroom tidy and make your bed each morning. Make sure that you always ask for permission to bring friends around and let your family know if you will not be at home for dinner or will be going away for the weekend!
Plan to arrive at your accommodation between 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm on the Saturday or Sunday prior to your course start date.
Breakfast: Breakfast is usually a light meal consisting of cereal, toast or fruit, frequently with juice or coffee. Often these foods will be made available to you and you will prepare your own morning meal.
Lunch: You will be responsible for purchasing your own lunch at a nearby restaurant or from a local store. A refrigerator and a microwave may be available for you to use at school.
Dinner: Dinner may be a shared meal in the evening, or occasionally you may prepare your own meal with food supplied by your host.

Barrington Plaza oers single and twin rooms in 2-bedroom apartments, a mere 15-min bus ride from school, with many amenities nearby and amazing views of the ocean, city, and mountains.
