For my first trip to London I chose Twin language school in Greenwich area. On the first day we were told about the school rules and were conducted a school tour. We were also told how to use transport in London and were advised on what applications to install and so on. Then we had a test and started to study.
The great advantage is that the school really cares about its students and acts primarily in their interests. You can always get help and answer for any question. The school organises some activities or tours every day which are either free or paid. It is more profitable to take excursions at the school than purchasing them yourself. At the moment there are almost no Russian students in the school, so there is no temptation to speak your native language:) The school also provides students with some kind of student ticket, though it warns about the possibility that it will not be accepted everywhere. In practice wherever I showed that ticket I got a discount, so you should definitely take with you.
I am satisfied with the studying. I took three-hour morning classes which passed unnoticed. Once a month the teacher is changed. If you are not sure of your level, you can always discuss it with the teacher and change the group as well as take additional classes.
The Twin School is located in zone 2 next to the Greenwich Park, North Greenwich and Cutty Sark stations. I booked accommodation in the same area near the school and eventually bought a travel card just for zones 1 and 2. In my opinion, it is more convenient to pay a little more for housing and save time and money for travel to and from school (as transportation in London is very expensive). By the way, if you like a school, but there is no suitable accommodation, you can always discuss it with Linguatrip managers. For example, manager Alex chose a suitable apartment specially for me."
