Studying at the London School of English was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. For me the course was better than I expected.

High quality general, business and professional courses, elite school.

Founded in 1912, we are the oldest officially-recognised English language school in the world with two buildings, both in excellent residential districts in London.

At Holland Park Gardens we have an Executive Centre, specialising in English for Business and English for Professional Purposes, as well as a range of specialised courses and courses targeted at Young Professionals under the age of 30. We have a significant number of international corporate clients who regularly send their staff for training with us.

All courses include a good quality lunch, completely free. Students also have access to free on-line learning from the date of enrolment until 3 months after their course finishes and regular networking sessions in the school.

Homestay

40 minutes from school on public transport
Minimum age — 18
Breakfast only

Homestay combines quality, friendliness and very good value for money. It is suitable both for people who want a lot of contact with their host and also for those who prefer to be free and independent.

All our accommodation is of high quality and close to our schools – often just a short walk, and never more than a 40-minute journey by foot or public transport. Since it is all in the same part of London our students are often reasonably close to each other.

We take great care in selecting our homestay accommodation. We visit each host family before using them, and continue to visit regularly. Being in constant touch with our hosts means that we get to know them very well and that also helps us to match clients with hosts. And because many have been working with us for several years, they understand that we have high expectations.

We will usually arrange for you to stay with the same host throughout, but it may be necessary for you to stay with more than one host during your stay.

Importantly, we also carefully check feedback to make sure that course participants who stay in homestay are happy and that standards remain high. In 2013 our average accommodation feedback for homestay was 4.4 out of 5.

Studying at the London School of English was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. For me the course was better than I expected. Not only do the teachers test your abilities every day with new challenges, but also having the possibility to make friends from all around the world is something that makes each day special and adds value to the course.
