The English Language Centre at Regent’s University London offers a wide variety of English language courses at different levels from pre-intermediate to advanced. Whether you want to improve your English language skills, prepare for university or enhance your career prospects, we will have the right course for you.
Studying at Regent’s will give you the opportunity to learn English in the heart of London. This means you will be able to learn English while practising your skills with fellow students on-campus and when exploring this exciting global city.
On your first day, we will assess your English language skills to ensure that you are placed on the right course for your current level. Our classes are communicative, with a lot of pair work and group work. This allows you to practise your skills in a relaxed and friendly environment, with other students from all over the world. Outside of your English language classes, you will be able to mix with undergraduate and postgraduate students and enjoy the same facilities that they do. You will also have access to regular extra-curricular activities such as our Conversation Club and weekly trips to various sights in London.
This course combines General English in the mornings with Business English in the afternoons. The morning class covers reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, with students placed in classes according to their level (B2, C1 or C2).
The afternoon class is a mixed level Business English session that will help you develop key language skills needed to communicate effectively and confidently in the modern workplace. Ideal for anyone at an early stage in their career, preparing for a career change, aiming to find a job in an English-speaking workplace or wanting to use English in a business context.
In this course, you'll explore various business-related topics such as cultural awareness in business, management styles, international marketing strategies, and overcoming communication barriers. You'll learn how to succeed in job applications and interviews, deliver effective presentations, use language for negotiating, write business emails, and master vocabulary and grammar for business contexts.
This course is available both face-to-face on campus or online via MS Teams or Zoom, so you can choose the option that's most convenient for you.
This course is for you if you:
- Are looking for private, one-to-one tuition at Regent’s campus
- Want to improve your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in a classroom
- Want to improve your grammar and pronunciation
- Want a flexible course, tailored to your needs, goals and level of English
- Are interested in joining extra-curricular activities provided by Regent’s*
- Want to take advantage of the University’s facilities – library, study areas, café
- Depending on your goals and needs, you can focus on general English, business English, academic English or IELTS exam preparation.
School's experienced, qualified teachers will help you identify and work on your weaknesses, develop fluency, accuracy and gain confidence in speaking English.
This course combines General English (15 hours in the mornings) with 6 hours of IELTS exam preparation in the afternoons, and 2 additional hours of speaking and writing workshops. In the mornings students are placed classes according to their levels (B1 to C2) while the afternoon sessions are mixed level classes aimed at helping students master the IELTS exam strategies and techniques. Regular IELTS practice tests are taken on this course. The speaking and writing workshops will help you develop your fluency and confidence in spoken English and the ability to write clear, concise, grammatically correct sentences and paragraphs.
The official IELTS exam is not included but students can be assisted with the exam registration.

For all two weeks of training, I had only one teacher and one replacement. The main teacher is wonderful. But he seemed to me a little modest. But the teacher, who replaced him, managed to win over the audience in just half an hour. They all started talking right away, albeit with mistakes. I can sa
