The standard general English course covers all aspects of the language: grammar, usage, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Great importance is placed on oral communication and materials are both relevant and stimulating. Students are tested regularly to make sure they are in the correct class for their level.
The intensive general English course is designed for students wishing to make optimum use of their time studying English in Dublin. The course covers all aspects of the English language and aims to develop the student's communicative ability in the shortest time possible.
Courses for complete beginners start on the first Monday of every month.
Business Course is designed to deliver fast and effective training. This course follows the morning Standard Course and offers 5 hours of Business English lessons in the afternoons.
The business section of the course includes the following modules:
- Participating in meetings & discussions;
- Using the telephone effectively;
- Giving clear and concise presentations;
- Entertaining clients;
- Learning strategies for the future.
English and Internship Programme combines an English language course, with an unpaid placement in a company in Dublin. The internship allows students to gain practical work experience and to improve their English language fluency in a professional, English-speaking work environment.
An up-to-date CV / Resume and Cover Letter in English, are both required at time of booking.
Minimum level of Upper Intermediate (B2.1)
The school must confirm the availability of your chosen accommodation.
If the selected housing is not available for your dates, the school will offer another accommodation option for you to consider.

Host family accommodation is available on a half-board or breakfast only basis.
International House Dublin's host families may be 'traditional' families with children, young couples with no children, single-parent families and retired couples whose children have left home.
Host families live outside the city centre in houses with gardens in the suburbs of Dublin. The majority of families live in residential areas on the south side of the city within 1 bus ride of the school.
Most students come to school each day on public transport (bus/train). The journey time takes approximately 40-50 minutes, this may be longer at peak traffic times.
Please note that family accommodation is not available in the city centre.
Beckett House Premium Apartments are located in a city centre and in 5 minute walk from school.
Each shared apartment has 4 single en-suite bedrooms, a living area with TV and a fully equipped kitchen. All apartments have free Wi-Fi.

The teachers, the location, the activities: everything was amazing! It makes me love Dublin even more! I would totally go back to IH and I totally recommend to my friends!
I really liked the school, the teaching method is excellent (communication, games). Pupils from different countries, but mainly from Brazil, Turkey and South Korea. Beckett House apartment is a 10-minute walk from the school.
