The Italian language school Terramare Orbetello, Tuscany, offers language and cultural courses with an intensive outdoor program with many cultural activities, as the courses that are held in small groups (not more than 3-6 students) do not only take place in the classroom but all around this lovely city and region: the participants learn the Italian language getting to know the Italian society, taking part in various cultural events and exploring the natural paradise as well as the artistic and cultural treasures of the surrounding area.
The Terramare Orbetello, situated in the historical town centre and open all year round, was founded in 1986 and run by highly qualified teachers with many years of experience in teaching Italian as a foreign language. The school team therefore offers a unique opportunity for those who want to learn the language and also want to practice it in everyday situations, as the courses of Terramare Orbetello guarantee full immersion in Italian culture and nature – enrolling for a course gives students a combination of language learning and language practice.
This course consists of 20 hours of group lessons per week plus 10 hours of individual lessons, with a total of 30 hours of tuition per week. The minimum duration of this course is one week. Group lessons take place in the morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., individual lessons are held in the afternoons. On three afternoons per week, students can participate in the cultural program that is included in the course price and contains meetings about Italian literature, art, history and archeology as well as excursions.
Duration: minimum 1 week
Lessons: 6 hours per day: 4 hours of group lessons and 2 hours of individual tuition. 1 hour of lesson = 60 minutes. 30 hours per week (20 hours group lessons, 10 hours individual lessons).
Level: all levels available
Class size: 3-6 persons in the group course, 1 to 1 in the individual lessons.
This course consists 2 hours of individual tuition per day, resulting in 10 hours per week. The minimum duration of this course is one week. In collaboration with the University of Siena Terramare organizes individual preparation courses for the CILS exam. This course is tailored to the specific requirements of the student, who is able to learn very intensively in a relaxed atmosphere and therefore make fast progress. On three afternoons per week, students can participate in the cultural program that is included in the course price and contains meetings about Italian literature, art, history and archeology as well as excursions.
Duration: minimum 1 week
Lessons: 2 hours per day. 1 hour of lesson = 60 minutes. 10 hours per week.
Level: all levels available
Class size: 1 to 1.
This course consists of language tuition including the language of the artistical and archeological field, visiting museums in the most important Tuscan cities of art, excursions to archeological sites and well as an art workshop in which students can experience techniques like the processing of clay, enamel and the decoration of ceramics or various painting and graphic techniques.
Duration: minimum 1 week
Lessons: 7 hours per day: 3 hours of group or individual language laboratory and 4 hours of cultural, artistic and archeological activities. 1 hour of lesson = 60 minutes. 35 hours per week (15 hours group or individual language laboratory, 20 hours of cultural, artistic and archeological activities).
