Newbury Hall delivers a ‘trajectory education’,
a unique approach that focuses on the pupil’s

for yourself, to decide for yourself and to plan for

Designed to offer the student exposure to a range
of topics, all of which will inform their general
interest, knowledge and appreciation for a welldeveloped
intellectual and open-minded future.
Example topics in this area include Writing Craft,
Narrative Strategies, Essential and Complex
Grammar and Interview Aptitude.
• Subject Literacy and Social Fluency
The school is expert in helping students feel
confident with other people, and enjoy the
challenge of meeting others and learning from
them. Example topics in Subject Literacy include
Maths, Economics, History, Geography, Philosophy,
Politics, Ethical Issues, Great Thinkers, Critique
and Media and Careers and Future Choices.
• Autonomous learning
Students take charge of their own learning.
They are supported to assume a high degree of
independence and take on full responsibility for
planning their study time. Students learn how to
research and discover information for themselves.
