International House London is a prestigious 9-floor language school in central London, existing since 1959. IH teaches English and prepares students for IELTS, CAMBRIDGE and OET exams from more than 100 countries, and also trains teachers and employees of organizations. Only 5% of school students are Russian-speaking.

Today the school occupies 9 floors and has 53 classrooms, each of them equipped with air conditioning and an interactive whiteboard. The school also has a modern cafe.
International House London is a non-profit organization that was established in 1959. It reinvests all of her funds into her premises and staff, as well as funding scholarships and projects around the world.
IH London is proud of its teachers: many teachers are not only experienced specialists in English, but they also teach other native teachers as well as teachers from around the world. In addition, many IH teachers themselves compiled and published various textbooks (Cutting Edge, English Unlimited, Headway), dictionaries and reference books.
General English course is designed to build student's confidence and ability in the four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students will develop the use of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Teachers use communicative approach whereby students are encouraged to communicate in pairs, groups or directly with the teacher at all times. This course is ideal for students who want to learn English and spend some free time walking around London.
This course is for learners who want to improve their IELTS score significantly across all four skills in the IELTS Academic Test.
The course is focused purely on IELTS and there is no General English content. Students are divided into 3 groups according to the level.
IH London is also an IELTS centre which means that teachers of IELTS course have also experience of examining IELTS.
During the course students:
-Cover all parts of the exam and be given strategies, techniques and advice on how to achieve the score you need
-Complete a full practice test under exam conditions and get individual feedback from your teacher
-Study each part of the exam and have regular tests to see your progress
-Practise speaking using a wide range of language used in the exam
-Develop writing skills and learn how to analyse data and texts to help you write more accurately
-Listen to different talks, lectures, programmes and conversations
-Read a wide range of academic and exam style texts such as reports and academic articles
-Increase grammar and vocabulary range to help you improve your score.

Teachers adapt the lessons to the needs of the class and supplement the use of textbooks with authentic materials such as digital resources and news articles.
20 lessons per week: students study General English from 9:00-12:00 and choose an extra focus class from 12:15-13:15 where they can focus on a particular skill which they lack in. Options include: Speaking & Grammar, Speaking& Writing, Speaking & Vocabulary, Speaking & Reading, Speaking & Listening.

Homestay is where a homeowner welcomes a student into their home, as a full member of the household, providing a room for the duration of the student's course. A homestay gives the opportunity to live with local people and experience life in a London home. For students, homestay is a cost-effective way to stay in London. You can choose a single room, or a shared room if you and a friend are booking together.
All of homestay providers will provide:
- a well ventilated and comfortable bedroom;
- adequate storage space, including hanging and drawer space;
- a table for private study;
- access to a bathroom, with bath or showers;
