Having changed courses in several schools and cities, I went to Brighton, a city overlooking the English Channel, an endless promenade, gulls and incredible music around! I chose the Kings school, cause I already studied at this school in London, I liked the academic approach to learning, it was more serious. Despite the fact that the school opened only 3 months ago, life and education in it is carried out at the highest level! The school building is new, just after renovation, more than 5 floors, 7 minutes from Brighton beach and from the railway station, so there was no problem with transport accessibility. 😍
In the school building, on the ground floor there is a large hall, reception where you are met and registered on the first day of training. Right in the school building there is a residence, how light and spacious it is! Many children lived there, it is convenient that you only need to go down to the lessons for lessons :)) There is a big dining room in the school building, breakfasts are served in the morning, after - a delicious and hearty lunch, a choice of hot dishes from about 5-6 garnishes and 2- 3 kinds of meat or fish, vegetable salads, meat / cheese cuts, fruits, hot, cold drinks and desserts! You can pay in cash or by a student card, which is issued on the first day of school, and you can refill it immediately in school and not carry money! Very comfortably! By the way, lunch was going out at 3-4 £, which is much cheaper than the nearest cafes and fast food restaurants!
On the first day we had a test, it was very similar to IELTS in structure, only one part was not listening, it was replaced by a 10-minute speaking with Stephen, he was responsible for our training, level compliance, teaching materials and academic performance! I was very lucky, even though I was worried about the test, I was assigned to the group 6A, the highest in the school by that time, this level is about Upper Intermediate +, our teachers later used various educational and multimedia materials from the level of Upper Intermediate to Pre-Advanced. After the test, we had Brighton tour in the nearest neighbourhoods, main sights, main streets, transport bureau, where you could buy a bus pass for a week / month / half a year). By the way, my advice to you! If you have an international student ISIC card, the travel card will cost 10-15% cheaper, depending on the season! :) 💡
I was very lucky with the teachers - Sandra and Sarah taught at the highest level, since our group was the highest level in this school, the teachers communicated with us on an equal footing, we joked in class and communicated without any difficulty, and complex constructions were studied and repeated in Adele songs or in video with BBC - memorable moments, a good associative method of perception of the new in learning the language) 📚📚The homework was asked from the very first day, a more serious attitude, classes of business and legal English, English in the marketing environment, many of the guys have been since the opening of the school and have come here for an academic semester or a year! In the group we had 10 people, guys from Spain, Italy, Turkey, Korea, Brazil, Switzerland and France - this is a very interesting cultural exchange, in the evenings we spent time together and talked that the most interesting, understood each other and now, after the course , still keep in touch!
I lived in a host family 40 minutes from school, despite the fact that every morning on the way to school we were standing in a traffic jam on Duke Road, there were no special difficulties. In addition to my family, there lived a girl from Bulgaria, she came to study at a local college and already lived in the family for more than 2 months, and a girl from Switzerland. On the first day I was given a map of the optimal travel to the school, the schedule of the bus (yes, they went 3 times an hour :() and a letter from the school with the address where you need to arrive on the first day of school, the password for access to the schedule and telephones .
The entertainment program is very rich! We had yoga in the park near the school, football matches, English in journalism (electives) and trips to London, Seven Sisters, an evening game in the mafia and twister 😁 so we rested as best we could! But they are very friendly with the guys!
I am very glad that every trip with LinguaTrip leaves only bright and interesting memories and gives many new friends! If you put off your English training - it's time to start now!
