Intensive English consists of 22 lessons per week in listening, speaking, reading and writing at the student's tested level. The course offers support with pronunciation and grammar, improvement in vocabulary and a focused path towards English proficiency. This course is ideal for those students seeking total immersion in their English studies. TALK’s advanced levels are ideal for students planning to continue their studies at an American university.
General English consists of 16 lessons per week in listening, speaking, reading and writing. This course puts students on a guided path to English proficiency, providing support in the improvement of pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. This course is ideal for students seeking to improve their language skills on a full-time basis.
The advanced academic levels of this course are ideal for students who wish to pursue further studies in a college or university.

Homestays are a popular accommodation option for international students because it provides the nurturing environment of a family home, an American cultural experience and the opportunity to practice English outside of the classroom.
All the host families are carefully screened and qualified before being able to
host TALK students.The families are as diverse as Americans themselves, with varying ethnic and racial backgrounds and families structured in traditional and non-traditional ways. Families include married couples with kids, a professional single parent, an older couple, a working mom or a stay-at-home dad – the variations are endless!

A classic San Francisco Victorian built in 1906, The Monroe is a favorite stopping place for travelers, business people, students and locals. Located amidst the parks and mansions of tree-filled Pacific Heights, the friendly and affordable Monroe combines the best features of a hotel and an apartment.
Housekeeping service is provided daily. Full-choice American-style breakfasts and tasty four-course dinners are served Monday through Saturday, with a continental breakfast and hearty brunch offered on Sunday for guests who opt into residence's meal plan. Meals are optional and paid directly to the property.
Ideally situated for those without a car, The Monroe is steps away from the bus stop and one block from the cable car line, which passes through Chinatown on the pleasant ten-minute trip to the downtown business and shopping districts.
All studios are equipped with telephones, and a 24-hour switchboard takes messages, and is happy to provide wake-up calls.
The Monroe affords as much privacy, or company, as you choose — with a television lounge, billiards room, study room, and laundry room available to guests. On winter's days, many enjoy reading and chatting by the polished mahogany fireplace, a gracious reminder of old San Francisco.
