LSI Downtown L.A. provides high-quality language programs designed to build students’ skills and self-confidence when communicating in English in either academic or professional situations.
Students of the LSI Downtown L.A. are able to participate in frequent activities that introduce them to the sites and experiences of Los Angeles, such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame and its over 2300 stars, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and its handprints and footprints, and the famous Hollywood/Highland entertainment center.
Students receive instruction in one of the numerous classrooms occupying an entire floor of a high-rise office building located in the heart of Los Angeles. A large kitchen and lunch area are continuously available during the day for breaks and study periods, and there are outdoor patio facilities available as well.
An additional advantage to the LSI Downtown L.A. location is the numerous ethnic restaurants available for students, as well as convenient proximity to public transportation such as bus routes and the Metro rail line. The campus is near major interstate highways 10 and 101, and numerous colleges and universities are in close proximity to the school, including the University of Southern California (USC) and Los Angeles Community College (LACC).
Public holidays, no classes: January 20st, February 17th, May 25th, July 4th, September 7nd, September 16th – September 20th, November 11th, November 26th-27th, December 23rd – January 3rd.
Based on Language Systems popular intensive ESL program, the Vacation English Program focuses on listening, speaking, grammar and reading skills, but it has less rigorous academic requirements, helping students improve while having enough time to explore popular nearby tourist sites. There might be fun activities and field trips available every Friday, giving students the chance to practice established and developing language skills in real-world settings while learning about American culture.

The Conversation Program is designed to improve your pronunciation, idiom usage, and fluency skills. You will be able to practice and use the skills necessary for real-world situations in English. The Conversation programs is broken down into two levels:

The intensive TOEFL iBT® class prepares students for the iBT by presenting and practicing strategies to help them improve their reading, vocabulary, listening, speaking and writing skills. In addition, students are given practice in critical thinking and note-taking skills. This class is beneficial for students who need a TOEFL® score to get into a university or graduate school program and students who need a TOEFL® score to enter a profession in the US (such as nursing or pharmacy).
TOEFL® program has a unique 4-week system that includes listening, speaking, reading, and writing practice on the computer. You will also have a practice TOEFL® test every 4 weeks to get an idea of your TOEFL® score. Students take a complete practice test on the computer in weeks 3, 7 and 11. The complete test is then reviewed in class, and each student receives a score.

The school must confirm the availability of your chosen accommodation.
If the selected housing is not available for your dates, the school will offer another accommodation option for you to consider.
I don't need housing
This is the best option for independent students who wants to socialize with different nationalities. The dormitory offers affordable options of fully furnished rooms: QUAD (4 people), DOUBLE (2 people), SINGLE (1 person). All bedrooms are fully furnished and equipped with full bedding set, closet, d resser and a desk. No meals are provided, but a fully equipped kitchen, laundromat and bathroom(s) shared by all of the residents of each unit are available. The dormitory also provides weekly housekeeping, maintenance, internet, and the assistance of the dorm manager. The dormitory is the best common place to bring people from different countries together for social and academic events.
Please note that a deposit of $250 is already included in the accommodation fee, which will be returned to you after departure. Booking of this type of accommodation is available only monthly.
