Junior Camp Stafford House York

Junior Camp Stafford House York offers high qualified summer English language courses for juniors from age 12 to 17.

Language courses

Course starts every Monday and is for all language levels
Classic course
  • From 12 years old
  • 16 students per class
  • Lesson 45 minutes

This Classic course offers 15 lessons of General English per week.

Themed lessons prepare students for different excursions and events.

Sunday is an arrival and local orientation day. On Monday, campers will have a placement test and an induction lesson. After that, students will be devided into groups, depending on age and level of English.

The price of the course also includes:

- supervised excursions: 1 full-day excursion per week plus 1 or 2 half-day excursions per week;

- sports and on-site activities such as arts and crafts, drama and evening activities;

- accommodation for campers: residence, full board;

- placement test, course material and end of course certificate.

Sample full-day excursions (1 per week): Liverpool, Manchester, Beamish Living Museum.

Sample half-day excursions (2 per week): York, Leeds, Knaresborough, Harrogate.

Optional full-day excursions: Alton Towers, Edinburgh, Newcastle, the Lake District, Scarborough, Whitby.

Note that optional excursion fees are not included into the course price.

Living in residence is a great opportunity for a child to live in contact with other people and learn to interact with them. Residence is located on camp's territory

Campers will live in recently refurbished bedrooms, usually with four or six beds in each room. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, TV and telephone. There are cosy lounges on each floor with television, as well as well-equipped kitchens. There is a weekly laundry service.

Also, the residence accommodation includes full board:

• for breakfast, there is a continental breakfast every day, including a cooked item or cold meat and cheese, and a hot breakfast at least once a week;

• for lunch and dinner, camp provides hot meals with a choice of main courses, including a vegetarian option. There is always a salad bar including cold protein items such as ham, egg or cheese.
