Located in a beautiful Victorian building, British Study Centres Manchester combines old and new; with interactive projectors in several classrooms and a large student lounge with plasma screen TV. Other facilities include: Computer room, vending machines, table football and Xbox.
TOEFL courses are designed to both improve your overall fluency and focus on perfecting your examination skills.
The programmes include a combination of 20 lessons of General English and 2 private exam preparation lessons per week.

This course includes 20 lessons of General English plus 10 afternoon elective lessons of Skills for Career or Academic Success per week.
- 20 Morning classes per week cover all language skills and are based around a coursebook, followed by a fluency-focused Speaking & Listening lesson.
- 10 Afternoon classes per week are devoted to helping students to develop creative and critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving and communication skills. The lessons use a coursebook specifically designed for BSC students aiming for success in their professional careers.
You can choose to study Skills for Academic Success or Skills for Career Success.
Skills for Academic Success prepares you to work effectively in an academic setting and is ideal if you wish to continue your studies in an English speaking environment or prepare for an exam.
Skills for Career Success will teach you to express yourself in the professional field and is ideal if you wish to work or advance your career at home or abroad.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an increasingly popular exam taken by students who plan to study at university in the UK, either for a first degree or a Master’s. School offers a bespoke course which helps you prepare for the exam.
Course components: 20 morning lessons dedicated to the skills, language and exam practice you need to achieve your desired result. You can add 10 afternoon lessons to fully prepare yourself for the exam, university and future study.
IELTS exam fee: £210 approx.
Minimum level: Intermediate (B1)
The school must confirm the availability of your chosen accommodation.
If the selected housing is not available for your dates, the school will offer another accommodation option for you to consider.

Living with local homestay hosts is one of the best ways to practise your English. All hosts are always friendly and welcoming, and come from a range of different backgrounds. They will play a key role in ensuring you have a comfortable and positive Manchester experience outside of school hours.

The year-round student residence is within easy reach of the school. Withing your student apartment you will have your own private en-suite bathroom with access to well-equiped shared kitchen facilities and communal areas including study spaces, a 24 hour residents gym, outdoor basketball court, games rooms and spacious lounge areas with Sky TV.
Located within walking distance from the University of Manchester and a short bus journey from Manchester's city centre.
Your en-suite bedroom includes a desk and storage spaces for your clothes. Within each apartment you will also have access to a shared kitchen. A bed linen pack is provided. Students are responsible for washing their own linen. Towels are not provided.
Self-catering accommodation: no meals provided, full use of kitchen facilities. Kitchens are modern and equipped with cookers, cutlery and cooking utensils. The kitchen and dining are shared with other students.
There are communal laundry facilities onsite. Use of these facilties is subject to charge and students must provide their own washing powders.
