Junior Camp Stafford House Malvern is based on a leading private boarding school in the centre of the historic spa town of Malvern in Worcestershire, near to Oxford and Bath.

Surrounded by the Cotswolds and rolling Malvern Hills, famous for its healing waters, the town has been popular with visitors for hundreds of years. Visitors can experience a town of beautiful Georgian architecture with an array of shops, cafés, restaurants, cinemas and theatres, as well as a traditionally British atmosphere.

Junior Camp Stafford House Malvern offers an exclusive programme of excursions to historical, cultural and fun destinations, linked to motivating lessons preparing the students for visits to many of the most famous landmarks of UK.

One full day excursion per week is included; destinations may include London, Oxford and Cardiff. Two half day excursions per week are also included; destinations may include Gloucester, Cheltenham, Worcester, Birmingham, Hereford and Stratford-upon-Avon. Optional excursions can be booked to destinations such as Bristol, Bath, Warwick Castle and Alton Towers.

Two week long programmes are designed to give the right balance between language development, activities and excursions filled with variety to engage all interests. Timetables are designed to give balance and variety.

Junior Camp Stafford House Malvern provides excellent sports facilities and art/dance studios on site. There are Astroturf sports pitches, Extensive sports fields, Two sports halls, Indoor swimming pool, Tennis and squash courts, Internet cafe.


Classic course + art
From 12 to 17 years old 16 students per class 1 lesson — 45 minutes
30 July—3 August

This course offers 15 hours of English per week combined with 9 hours per week specialised art classes and workshops.

The course combines tuition in various aspects of Art & Design, which may include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and 3D work. They will have the opportunity to present selected pieces of art to other students in an exhibition at the end of the week and/or course.

Students will have the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques, improve their existing one, and put them into practice.

The course is taught entirely in English, so students improve their language skills as they train and play.

English level: Elementary to Advanced.

Ability level: Beginner to Advanced.

Sunday is an arrival and local orientation day. On Monday, campers will have a placement test and an induction lesson. After that, students will be devided into groups, depending on age and level of English.

The schedule may be different (lessons are in the mornings, art tuition & workshops are in the afternoon, or, art tuition & workshops are in the morning, and lessons are in the afternoon)

The price of the course also includes:

- supervised excursions: 1 full-day excursion per week plus 1 or 2 half-day excursions per week;

- sports and on-site activities such as arts and crafts, drama and evening activities;

- accommodation for campers: residence, full board;

- placement test, course material and end of course certificate.

Campers have an opportunity to use some centre facilities, such as, astroturf sports pitches, extensive sports fields, two sports halls, indoor swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, internet café.

Sample full-day excursions (1 per week): London, Oxford, Cardiff.

Sample half-day excursions (2 per week): Gloucester, Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham, Cheltenham, Worcester, Hereford.

Optional full-day excursions: Alton Towers, Bath, West Midlands Safari Park, London, The Black Country Museum.

Note that optional excursion fees are not included into the course price.

Student accommodation is residential and located in various buildings around the school campus.

There is a mixture of single and twin rooms and small dormitories, with communal social areas and shared bathrooms. There are also laundry facilities on-site.

Also, the residence accommodation includes full board:

• for breakfast, there is a continental breakfast every day, including a cooked item or cold meat and cheese, and a hot breakfast at least once a week.

• for lunch and dinner, camp provides hot meals with a choice of main courses, including a vegetarian option. There is always a salad bar including cold protein items such as ham, egg or cheese.

The campus is dominated by the School's main building - a converted hotel - as well as boarding houses and the 'Sports Dome' containing squash courts, a gym and a sports hall.
