The standard general English course covers all aspects of the language: grammar, usage, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Great importance is placed on oral communication and materials are both relevant and stimulating. Students are tested regularly to make sure they are in the correct class for their level.
The intensive general English course is designed for students wishing to make optimum use of their time studying English in Dublin. The course covers all aspects of the English language and aims to develop the student's communicative ability in the shortest time possible.
Start dates:Every Monday (Courses for complete beginners start on the first Monday of every month).
1 hour = 60 minutes.
In today’s fast paced world, confidence in communicating through English is vital for both employability and successful business. Business Course is designed to deliver fast and effective training. This course follows the morning Standard Course and offers 5 hours of Business English lessons in the afternoons.
The business section of the course includes the following modules:
Participating in meetings & discussions
Using the telephone effectively
Giving clear and concise presentations
Learning strategies for the future
English and Internship Programme combines an English language course, with an unpaid placement in a company in Dublin. The internship allows students to gain practical work experience and to improve their English language fluency in a professional, English-speaking work environment.
An up-to-date CV / Resume and Cover Letter in English, are both required at time of booking.
Minimum level of Upper Intermediate (B2.1)
The school must confirm the availability of your chosen accommodation.
If the selected housing is not available for your dates, the school will offer another accommodation option for you to consider.

Host family accommodation is available on a half-board or breakfast only basis.
International House Dublin's host families may be 'traditional' families with children, young couples with no children, single-parent families and retired couples whose children have left home.
All host families are carefully selected and visited by Accommodation Office and agree to the following conditions for students:
To provide students with single rooms (unless a twin room has been requested by 2 people booking together)
Not to accommodate persons of the same nationality unless specifically requested by the students concerned
To provide basic laundry facilities and to change bed linen regularly
To make a daily bath or shower available
To provide an adequate continental breakfast each day
To provide a substantial dinner each night and a light lunch at weekends for students who have booked the half-board option
To provide students with a door key so that they can let themselves in and out.
Our host families live outside the city centre in houses with gardens in the suburbs of Dublin. The majority of our families live in residential areas on the south side of the city within 1 bus ride of the school.
Most students come to school each day on public transport (bus/train). The journey time takes approximately 40-50 minutes, this may be longer at peak traffic times.
Please note that family accommodation is not available in the city centre.
Beckett House Premium Apartments are located in a city centre and in 5 minute walk from school.
Each shared apartment has 4 single en-suite bedrooms, a living area with TV and a fully equipped kitchen. All apartments have free Wi-Fi.

IH Dublin also offers modern studio apartments in the trendy, residential area of Ranelagh.
Ranelagh is a lively area, popular with both students and young professionals. It is located only 15 minutes by LUAS / tram or car, from Dublin city centre and is a short bus ride from the school. Both single, twin and double occupancy studio apartments are available, with their own private bathroom, kitchen and living area. All apartments have free Wi-Fi. Bed linen and towels are provided. There are laundry facilities onsite. There is also have a permanent member of International House Dublin staff living onsite and available to help students.
We strongly recommend you to book your flight only after your participation in a course and visa are confirmed.
