Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County is situated just south of Dublin, the Capital City of Ireland. The County offers an ideal balance between the vibrant capital and the unspoilt countryside. The motto 'From the Mountains to the Sea' / 'Ó Chuan go Sliabh' encompasses both the urban and rural environment and includes such areas as Blackrock, Dalkey, Sandyford, Dundrum, Stepaside and Glencullen. The coastline stretches from Booterstown near the city, through Dún Laoghaire and Dalkey to the magnificent vistas of Killiney Bay.Within twenty minutes drive from Dublin you can be Hill-walking, Horse-riding, Golfing or enjoying a host of other activities, all set in spectacular countryside. The villages and towns offer a wide selection of shops, shopping malls, restaurants and pubs, and evening entertainment with music, theatre and cinemas. The area also has a rich cultural heritage: The James Joyce Museum at the Sandycove Martello Tower, setting for the opening chapter of Ulysses, The Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre, The Maritime Museum in Dún Laoghaire and the many archaeological sites spread throughout the County.78 / 79 Upper George's Street are two period buildings which have been beautifully restored and opened into one interconnecting unit. With over 6000 square feet of space the now purpose built school offers a unique blend of size and use. The two houses hosted several different capacities in their 120 years or so. From upmarket separate private houses for wealthy owners to high end 5 star restaurants. More recently it was also used for IT companies and also a Medical research center. In the early part of the 20 century the two house were actually a school for 3rd level students who studied Technical Drawing and Draftsmanship. In 2004 Active Language Learning took over the two buildings and again upgraded to the superb purpose built modern academic facility it is today. The facilities included in the centre are as follows: Warm and welcoming reception, Administration office, Staff room, Ladies & Gents facilities on each of the three floors, Lift, Car park, Bright and airy fully equipped classrooms, Canteen, Terrace with panoramic views of Dublin Bay, Computer room, Free Internet access, WiFi throughout the building, Study Centre. Also surrounding the building and all within walking distance are the following facilities: shops, shopping centres X 2, cafes, restaurants, parks, cinema, theater, metro stations X 2, tourist office, ferry port, 13 local and city bus services, sailing, golf, walks...

The trip was great, thank you LinguaTrip so much for your help!! Next time, if I am going somewhere (which I AM, that's for sure), I will turn to you.

The host family I lived in (mother and daughter) was just THE best. So friendly and kindhearted people (as all the Irish, on the whole). It was a real pleasure to communicate with them every day, we had so many things to talk about! They became a second family for me, they cared for me and tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The opportunity to communicate with them for a long time every day, listening to "proper" English and to talk a great deal yourself is a big advantage. When I had to leave, it was very touching farewell, because over these three months we got so used to each other... and now they are going to visit me in Moscow, and so are my other friends that I met in Ireland :-)

The school left tons of positive impressions. Great teachers, classes including different types of activities: not only grammar, but also speaking and listening, team games sometimes. When I arrived, I was put into a group of Upper Intermediate. It was difficult at first, not only during the class but also after. As I understood the conversation, I wanted to add something, but my tongue was "tied", so I could not participate in the conversation. After 3-4 weeks I started talking, talking so much that I could not be stopped. On week 8, I was moved to the Advanced group. The school also organizes all kinds of trips and excursions, as an after-class activity. Over the first month I attended almost everything. Then I made so many friends that I could organize my leisure time myself. I can say that I fell in love with Ireland, it has an absolutely unspeakable beauty, every place is different from each other, such a small country, but there's so much to see. The people impressed me as well one is in a hurry, everyone smiles, everyone's friendly and ready to help. The fun thing is that you communicate with different people from different countries every day. Different views, different backgrounds and habits, all of it amazing. Now I have so many friends around the world and so many invitations to visit each country.

Over the three months I spent about 1700 euros on other expenses .

Now I plan to go to work and study for a whole year. Probably next year, since I need to save some for money first. I'll have to think about it, whether to stick to Ireland or to go to another country.

I was amazed by the Irish culture.Everyone in the street would greet me and wish a good day. I liked everything about this trip starting from the first call to the LinguaTrip office when I needed help finding the right school.

The school's advantages:

Absolutely satisfied with everything. The cultural program was so vast, I didn't even have time to exprience everything.

The school's disadvantages:
