This College also helps and supports clients with transfers to and from the airport, accommodation, social activities and excursions. CEC is an authorised Cambridge ESOL, IELTS, BULATS, TOEIC and TOLES examination centre in Cork.

Cork English College’s English afternoon classes focuse on effective communication and have a multi – layered syllabus which includes comprehensive work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Qualified and experienced teachers use a variety of published and authentic materials to help students to progress as quickly as possible.
New vocabulary is introduced and practised at every stage of the lesson and particular attention is paid to high frequency, internationally useful words and phrases.
Special emphasis is given to communicating effectively and accurately, and error correction plays an important role in classes. New language is practised through meaningful speaking tasks and discussions, which include regular integrated work on pronunciation.
15 hours of tuition per week.
CEC's General English Courses focus on effective communication and include comprehensive work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

By the end of the course, students will be better able to use English more accurately and effectively and with more confidence.
Two-week teacher training programme offers 50 hours of practical training in the most-up-to date teaching techniques while also helping participants to improve their own language skills.
You can choose one of three course types:
• Standard Teacher Training Course;
• CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) Preparation Course;
• TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) Preparation Course.
Participants explore a wide range of topics including teaching methodology, exploiting and adapting materials, the increased role of technology in the language classroom, classroom management and approaches and activities for teaching all language areas and skills, in addition to teaching observation sessions followed by feedback meetings.
Classes on Irish history, culture and the Irish educational system in addition to a full social and activity programme also form part of this intensive and dynamic course.

Minimum English language level: B1.

If the selected housing is not available for your dates, the school will offer another accommodation option for you to consider.
I don't need housing
Our Residential apartments are self-catering and consist of 5 or 6 bedrooms, with a shared kitchen. Each student has their own bathroom facilities. Bed linen can be hired from the apartments but students must bring their own towels. All kitchen utensils, crockery etc. are provided and laundry facilities are available.
Location: Cork City Centre.
Shared apartments are self-catering and offer all mod cons. The student has the use of a single room, shared kitchen, bathroom and living room. Bed linen is provided on arrival. The apartments have laundry facilities and a TV. There may be other students living in the same apartment or the students may be sharing with Irish people who are working in Cork.
All occupants in the apartment are expected to keep the apartment clean and tidy. Rooms are cleaned upon departure for the next arrival.
The apartments are based within the city centre so they are close to all amenities.
The student has the use of a single room, shared bathroom, shared kitchen and living room.
Location: Cork City Centre.
A host family is a chance for a student to become part of an Irish family while in Cork. The accommodation includes half board (breakfast and dinner) for a week and full board (all meals) at the weekend.
